Are your items new or second-hand?
Most of our items are second-hand, but all are carefully inspected to ensure good condition. Occasionally, we also receive donations of brand-new items.
What kind of items does the Outpost take for donations?
You can find a complete list of the donations we accept and those that we don't by clicking the About Us tab above in the menu bar then selecting Store Information from the drop down.
Do you restock items regularly?
Yes! We accept and process donations every day we are open so new items can be stocked on the floor Tuesday thru Sunday—so check back often for fresh finds.
When and where can I drop off donations?
We accept donations Tuesday through Sunday from 10AM-5PM at the store! Our address is 124 Greenmount Road, Building #2, Rising Sun, MD, 21911. Drive around to the backside of our building to the donation center.
Do you offer donation receipts for tax purposes?
Yes, we do! Just ask at the time of drop-off.
How can I volunteer at the CHEP Outpost?
We’re always looking for helping hands! Fill out our Volunteer Interest Form or stop by the store to learn more and sign up.
Are you part of the VA in Perrypoint, MD?
No, CHEP (Chesapeake Health Education Program, Inc.) is not part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). We are an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. However, we work in close partnership with the VA and other agencies to serve Veterans through transitional housing, supportive services, and community-based programs. 100% of our profits are donated to CHEP, inc. a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
